Ingredients/Components
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- honey - 1/2 c
- olive oil - 1/2 c
- wheat germ - 1 c
- old fashioned oats - 6 c
- bran - 1 c
- chopped dried fruit Craisins, raisins, papaya, dates, etc - 2 c
How to make granola:
Preheat oven to 325°. In a large mixing bowl, stir together oats, wheat germ, bran, coconut, and nuts. In a glass measuring cup, combine honey and oil. Microwave until it boils (approximately 2 minutes). Watch carefully. Pour oil and honey over oat mixture, and stir to coat all. Using 2 large cookie sheets or baking pans, divide oat mixture evenly, and spread as thin as possible. Bake at 325° for 10 minutes. Stir and spread. Bake 10 minutes. Stir and spread. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven, combine both halves, and add dried fruit. Store airtight.Recipe categories: Breakfast, Grains, Granola and porridge.
