Ingredients/Components

  • granulated sugar - 1 item
  • packed brown sugar - 1 c
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • egg - 1 item
  • shortening - 3/4 c
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • ground ginger - 1 tsp

How to make gingersnaps:

Mix brown sugar, shortening, molasses and egg. Stir in baking soda, cinnamon, flour, ginger, cloves and salt. Heat oven to 375°. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.

Shape dough into balls (1-inch thick) and roll one side in the sugar. Place balls, sugared side up, on cookie sheet. Mm-Good!
