Molasses crinkles
Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1 item
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- baking soda - 2 tsp
- egg - 1 item
- shortening - 3/4 c
- all-purpose flour
- molasses - 1/4 c
- brown sugar, packed - 1 c
- ground cloves - 1/2 tsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground ginger - 1 tsp
How to make molasses crinkles:
Mix brown sugar, molasses, shortening and egg. Mix in flour, soda, spices and salt. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour. Heat oven to 375°. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. Dip tops in granulated sugar. Place balls, sugared side up, 3 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake just until set, 10 to 12 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet.
