Gingered pepper steak
Ingredients/Components
- sirloin steak, cut into strips - 1 lb
- mushrooms, sliced - 1/2 lb
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- cooking oil - 2 Tbsp
- soy sauce - 1/4 c
- water - 1/4 c
- cider vinegar - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- ginger - 1/4 tsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- small onion, sliced - 1 item
- medium green pepper, cut in strips - 1 item
How to make gingered pepper steak:
Place meat, mushrooms, garlic and oil in a 2-quart casserole. Cover with waxed paper. Microwave on High for 6 to 8 minutes, or until meat is no longer pink. Stir halfway through cooking.Mix together soy sauce, water, vinegar, cornstarch, salt, ginger and pepper until smooth. Stir into meat mixture. Microwave on High for 5 to 6 minutes, or until thickened. Stir occasionally. Add onion and green pepper. Microwave on Low for 10 to 15 minutes to blend flavors. Vegetables will be tender.
