  • brown sugar - 1 c
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • shortening - 1/2 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • hot water - 1 c
  • cloves - 1 tsp
  • white sugar - 1 c
  • dark molasses - 1/2 c

How to make gingerbread cake:

Mix well. Bake in a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350° for 1/2 hour to 35 minutes. Top with whipped cream.
