Ingredients/Components
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour
- brown sugar
- baking soda - 4 tsp
- shortening - 1 c
- molasses - 1/2 c
- ginger - 2 tsp
- cloves - 1 tsp
How to make gingersnaps:
Baking Temperature: 375°. Baking Time: 10 minutes.Cream together shortening, brown sugar, molasses and eggs. Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices. Stir into creamed mixture. Form into balls and roll in granulated sugar. Bake. Yield: 10 dozen.
Note: These cookies rise and crack. Remove from the oven as soon as they turn golden brown. Do not let them get dark.
