  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • milk - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/4 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • soda - 1/2 tsp
  • confectioners sugar - 1 item
  • egg - 1 item
  • molasses - 1/2 c
  • ginger - 1 tsp
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • soft shortening - 1/4 c
  • coffee - 3 tsp
  • Stir in all dry ingredients until well blended

How to make ginger cream cookies:

Mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and water together. Stir in all dry ingredients until well blended. Chill dough. Drop by teaspoonfuls, about 2-inches apart, on cookie sheet. Bake just until set, about 6 to 8 minutes in 400° oven. While still warm, frost with Coffee Cream Frosting.Coffee Cream Frosting:1/4 c. margarine3 tsp. coffee1 tsp. milk confectioners sugar Mix coffee, margarine and milk together. Add enough confectioners sugar to make frosting.
