German sweet chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- coconut
- oleo - 1/4 c
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- pecans, chopped - 1/2 c
- 9-inch unbaked pie shell - 1 item
How to make german sweet chocolate pie:
Preheat oven to 375°. Melt chocolate with oleo over low heat in saucepan, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Gradually blend in milk. In small bowl, mix sugar, cornstarch and salt thoroughly. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture. Pour into pie shell. Combine coconut and nuts; sprinkle over filling. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until puffed and brown. Filling will be soft, but will set while cooling. Cool at least 4 hours before cutting.If top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil the last 15 minutes of baking and turn temperature down to 350°.
