Ingredients/Components

  • eggs - 6 item
  • C milk - 1 item
  • C all-purpose flour - 1 item
  • tsp salt - 1/2 item
  • Tbsp butter OR margarine, melted - 2 item
  • Pour the batter into an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish
  • C buttermilk - 3/4 item
  • C butter OR margarine - 1/2 item
  • Tbsp corn syrup - 2 item
  • tsp baking soda - 1 item
  • tsp vanilla extract - 2 item

How to make german pancake:

Place eggs, milk, flour and salt in a blender; cover and process until smooth. Pour the batter into an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Add the butter.

Bake, uncovered, at 400°F for 20 minutes. Serve with Buttermilk syrup.Buttermilk Syrup:1 1/2 C sugar3/4 C buttermilk1/2 C butter OR margarine2 Tbsp corn syrup1 tsp baking soda2 tsp vanilla extract Confectioner's sugar In saucepan, combine first five syrup ingredients; bring to a boil and boil for 7 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.

Dust pancake with confectioner's sugar; serve immediately with the syrup. Makes about 2 cups syrup.
