German coleslaw
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- salt
- cider vinegar
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- shredded cabbage - 8 c
- mustard seed
- turmeric - 1/2 tsp
- medium onions, finely chopped - 4 item
- red bell pepper, finely chopped - 1 item
- green bell peppers, finely chopped - 2 item
How to make german coleslaw:
Mix cabbage, bell peppers and onions in bowl. Combine vinegar and remaining ingredients in saucepan. Bring to a boil. Pour over cabbage mixture. Chill for 24 hours or longer. Yield: 12 cups.Recipe categories: Salads, Vegetables, German.
