German chocolate pie
Ingredients/Components
- pkg - 1 oz
- butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- can evaporated milk - 1 oz
- sugar
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- eggs, lightly beaten - 2 item
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp
- unbaked deep dish pastry shell 9-inch - 1 item
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- flaked coconut
How to make german chocolate pie:
In a saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring to mix well. Remove from heat; gradually blend in milk. Set aside. In a bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Stir in eggs and vanilla. Gradually stir in chocolate mixture. Pour into pastry shell. Combine pecans and coconut; sprinkle over filling. Bake at 375° for 45 to 50 minutes, or until puffed and brown.
