  • brown sugar
  • white sugar
  • shortening - 1 c
  • eggs - 3 item
  • can fruit cocktail, drained - 1 oz
  • walnuts optional - 1 c
  • flour - 4 c
  • salt
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • baking powder - 1 tsp
  • allspice - 1 tsp
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp

How to make fruit cocktail cookies:

Mix brown sugar, white sugar, shortening and eggs. Add fruit cocktail (drained), walnuts, flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, allspice and cinnamon. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.

Very colorful - - fruits plump up as they bake and kids love 'em!
