Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 2 c
- brown sugar
- evaporated milk
- coconut - 1/2 c
- soda - 2 tsp
- flaked coconut - 1/2 c
- oleo - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 2 Tbsp
- can fruit cocktail with its liquid - 1 item
How to make fruit cocktail cake:
Topping:1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. flaked coconut Sauce:1/4 c. evaporated milk3/4 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. oleo1/2 c. coconut1/2 c. chopped nuts In large bowl, mix all cake ingredients. Mix well. Pour into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle topping over. Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.Combine sauce items in cooking pan and bring to a boil. When cake is done and slightly cooled, pour sauce over cake, spreading sauce evenly. Yields 15 or 18 servings. Yum, yum good!
