Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- flour - 3 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- evaporated milk - 1/4 c
- water - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- raisins - 1 c
- nuts, chopped - 1/2 c
- sticks oleo - 2 item
- liquid - 1/2 c
How to make fruit bars:
Glaze:3/4 c. sugar1/2 c. butter1/4 c. evaporated milk1/2 tsp. vanilla1/2 c. nuts, chopped Grease and flour 11 x 15-inch cookie sheet. Cover raisins with water for 20 minutes; cook. Pour off liquid and sauce and add water to make 1/2 cup. Cream sugar, oleo, salt and eggs. Add the liquid, alternating with flour and soda. Add raisins and nuts. Spread in greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes.Glaze (while warm): Combine all ingredients for glaze except nuts. Bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in nuts. Cool 1 minute and spread on bars. Cut into squares after they cool.
