Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 1 c
- sugar - 1 c
- molasses - 1 c
- egg - 1 item
- sour milk - 1 c
- all-purpose flour - 6 c
- baking powder - 1 Tbsp
- baking soda - 1 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 1 tsp
- ground ginger - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
How to make frosted spice cookies:
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add molasses, egg and milk; mix well. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts, raisins and dates, if wanted. Chill for 30 minutes. Roll dough out on a lightly floured surface about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch cutter. Place on greased baking sheets.
