Frosted cranberry squares
Ingredients/Components
- chopped pecans - 1/2 c
- pkg - 1 oz
- butter - 1 Tbsp
- can crushed pineapple - 1 1/2
- bottle ginger ale - 1 oz
- can jellied cranberry sauce 2 c - 1 lb
How to make frosted cranberry squares:
Drain pineapple, reserving syrup. Add water to syrup to make 1 cup and heat until mixture is boiling. Dissolve gelatin in hot liquid; cool. Gently stir in ginger ale. Chill until partly set.Meanwhile, blend drained pineapple and cranberry sauce. Fold into gelatin mixture. Turn into 9 x 9 x 2-inch dish; chill until firm. Prepare dessert topping mix according to directions on package. Fold in softened cream cheese and spread over gelatin. Toast pecans in butter in 350° oven about 10 minutes. Sprinkle over top of gelatin. Chill.
