Ingredients/Components
- granulated sugar - 1 Tbsp
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- all-purpose flour - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- medium green tomatoes, sliced 1/2-inch thick - 4 item
How to make fried green tomatoes:
Mix flour, sugar, salt and pepper on a piece of wax paper. Coat tomato slices with flour mixture. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add tomatoes in a single layer. Cook 3 to 4 minutes per side until lightly browned and just barely tender. Remove to serving platter.
