  • vanilla - 2 tsp
  • eggs, beaten - 2 item
  • flour - 3 c
  • chopped apples - 3 c
  • shortening
  • lemon juice - 3 Tbsp
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • soda
  • chopped nuts

How to make fresh apple cake:

Combine sugar, shortening, vanilla, eggs, lemon juice and salt. Beat well. Mix flour and soda in. Blend apples and pecans in. Bake in greased and floured tube pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
