Fresh apple cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 1 tsp
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt
- chopped nuts - 1 c
- eggs, beaten - 2 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- vegetable oil - 3/4 c
- sifted flour - 3 c
- coarsely chopped apples - 4 c
How to make fresh apple cake:
(I use self-rising flour and omit baking powder and salt.)Preheat oven to 350°. In large bowl, sift together dry ingredients. Stir in vegetable oil, vanilla, eggs and nuts. Batter will be very thick. Add apples and mix well. Pour into ungreased angel food pan and bake 1 1/2 hours. Serve hot or cold with whipped cream or ice cream. Good without a topping.
