French onion soup
Ingredients/Components
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- French bread - 1 item
- stick butter or margarine - 1 item
- Gruyere cheese - 1 item
- to 8 onions - 6 item
- cans condensed beef bouillon - 4 item
How to make french onion soup:
Thinly slice onions. Saute onions until clear. Add beef bouillon. Bring to boil and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes. Ladle into ovenproof crocks. Add 1/2-inch slice of toasted French bread and sprinkle with grated cheese. Place crock under the broiler until the cheese is melted and browned.Recipe categories: Soups & stews, Meat, French.
