Ingredients/Components

  • sugar - 1/4 c
  • milk optional - 1 item
  • large ears sweet corn
  • stick margarine, cut into large chunks - 1 item

How to make freezer sweet corn:

Remove corn from cob by cutting off top 1/2 kernels. Scrape cob lightly to get remaining pulp. Place corn in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Layer margarine on top of corn. Sprinkle sugar over all. (Add milk if corn is not juicy.) Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Stir thoroughly. Heat 10 to 15 minutes longer or until bubbly once again. Remove from oven. Let cool. Place in freezer containers. Seal, label and freeze. Makes about 6 pints.

Note: To serve, thaw. Add salt, pepper, more sugar (if desired) and milk to taste. Warm to serving temperature.
