Finnish flat bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- shortening - 1/4 c
- all-purpose flour
- whole wheat flour - 3/4 c
How to make finnish flat bread:
Combine flours, sugar, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add buttermilk and mix just until dough is moistened. Knead on floured board for 3 to 5 minutes. Pat onto an ungreased 12-inch pizza pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until golden. Cool for 10 minutes.
