Ingredients/Components
- water - 3 Tbsp
- vegetable oil - 2 Tbsp
- parsley flakes - 1 Tbsp
- ketchup - 1/4 c
- medium onion - 1 item
- dash of nutmeg - 1 item
- dash of cinnamon - 1 item
- large can fava beans - 1 item
- red pepper liquid jar type - 1 Tbsp
- ketchup again - 1/4 c
How to make favas:
Saute onion in oil. Add water and 1/4 cup ketchup. Stir and simmer, then add more water if needed. Add pepper, parsley, nutmeg and cinnamon. Cook for 5 minutes. Add another 1/4 cup ketchup and favas with juice. Simmer about 5 more minutes. Enjoy!Recipe categories: Appetizers, Beans, Portuguese.
