English trifle
Ingredients/Components
- large container Cool Whip - 1 item
- vanilla instant pudding - 1 pkg
- sherry - 1 c
- medium bananas, sliced - 2 item
- small can mandarin oranges, drained - 1 item
- small angel food cake - 1 item
- small can peaches, drained - 1 item
- strawberry-banana Jell-O - 2 pkg
- small can pears, drained - 1 item
How to make english trifle:
Break up angel food cake into 1-inch pieces. Place in the bottom of a glass bowl or trifle dish. Pour sherry over cake and stir. Add bananas, mandarin oranges, peaches and pears. Put aside.In another bowl, add Jell-O mix, 2 cups of hot water and 1 cup of cold water. Stir until dissolved. Pour over cake and fruit mixture. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
Make instant pudding, using directions on package, and spread over Jell-O mixture, then finally spread Cool Whip over pudding and refrigerate.
