Eight layer casserole
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 tsp
- pkg - 1 oz
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- dairy sour cream - 1 c
- garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- dried basil, crushed - 1 tsp
- chopped onions - 2 Tbsp
- ground beef - 1 lb
- cans tomato sauce - 2 oz
- shredded Cheddar cheese 4 oz - 1 c
- noodles, cooked and drained - 6 oz
How to make eight layer casserole:
In a large skillet, cook beef until brown; drain fat. Stir in tomato sauce, basil, sugar, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Bring to boiling point. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes, uncovered. Combine sour cream, cream cheese, milk and onion. In a 2-quart casserole or 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking dish, layer half noodles, half meat, half cream cheese mixture and all the spinach. Top with remaining meat and noodles. Cover, bake in a 350° oven for 45 minutes. Chill remaining cream cheese mixture. Spread with remaining cream cheese mixture. Top with Cheddar cheese and bake, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Serves 6.Recipe categories: < 15 mins, Main dish, Casseroles.
