Ingredients/Components
- fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1 lb
- shredded cabbage Chinese - 1/2 lb
- carrots, shredded - 2 item
- medium onion, chopped - 1/2 item
- chopped celery - 1 c
- bean sprouts fresh - 1/2 lb
- oil peanut or canola - 1/4 c
- cooking oil - 1 item
- chicken bouillon cubes or 1 can broth - 4 item
- soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- cornstarch to thicken - 1 item
- egg roll wrappers - 1 item
- pepper to taste - 1 item
- meat optional; chicken or shrimp - 1/2 lb
How to make egg rolls:
In wok or skillet, heat 1/4 cup oil; add onion and carrots. Cook for 5 minutes; meat also, if used in recipe. Add all other ingredients; simmer until tender and add cornstarch. Wrap and fry in oil until crisp on each side. Drain on paper towels. ServRecipe categories: Appetizers, Poultry, Meat.
