Ingredients/Components

  • fresh mushrooms, sliced - 1 lb
  • shredded cabbage Chinese - 1/2 lb
  • carrots, shredded - 2 item
  • medium onion, chopped - 1/2 item
  • chopped celery - 1 c
  • bean sprouts fresh - 1/2 lb
  • oil peanut or canola - 1/4 c
  • cooking oil - 1 item
  • chicken bouillon cubes or 1 can broth - 4 item
  • soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • sugar - 2 Tbsp
  • cornstarch to thicken - 1 item
  • egg roll wrappers - 1 item
  • pepper to taste - 1 item
  • meat optional; chicken or shrimp - 1/2 lb

How to make egg rolls:

In wok or skillet, heat 1/4 cup oil; add onion and carrots. Cook for 5 minutes; meat also, if used in recipe. Add all other ingredients; simmer until tender and add cornstarch. Wrap and fry in oil until crisp on each side. Drain on paper towels. Serv
