- box German chocolate cake mix - 1 item

How to make earthquake cake:
Grease but do not flour 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle pecans in bottom of pan, then sprinkle coconut over nuts. Mix cake according to directions on box. Pour over nuts and coconut. Do not stir.Cream together confectioners sugar, cream cheese and margarine. Spoon over cake batter. Do not stir. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes. As cake rises, creamed mixture sinks down, which gives a rough cracked top to cake. Thus the name, "Earthquake."
