Earthquake cake



  • cream cheese - 8 oz
  • chopped nuts - 1 c
  • coconut - 1 c
  • cocoa
  • sifted powdered sugar
  • margarine - 1/2 c
  • margarine, melted - 1/2 c
  • cola - 6 tbsp
  • German chocolate cake mix - 1 item

How to make earthquake cake:

Frosting:2 tbsp. cocoa1/2 c. margarine6 tbsp. cola Prepare cake mix according to directions on box. Spread coconut and nuts in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Pour cake mix on top. Combine melted margarine, cream cheese and 2 c. powdered sugar. Beat well. Pour over batter. Bake at 350° F for 45-55 minutes. (Top will crinkle.) Cool.

Frosting; Combine 2 tbsp. Cook until it boils, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add 2 1/2 c. powdered sugar and whisk or use mixer. Spread over cooled cake.
