- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 1 c
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- egg - 1 item
How to make dutch apple bread:
Sift flour; add baking powder, salt and sugar; sift again. Cut soft butter into dry ingredients as for pastry. Add beaten egg and milk. Beat until well blended. Spread in greased shallow pan (8 x 12-inch). Press apple slices on top and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 400° for 25 to 30 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Grains.
