Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 item
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- butter - 1/2 c
- water - 4 Tbsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- cocoa - 3/4 c
- egg whites - 2 item
- dash of salt - 1 item
- cream of tartar - 1/2 tsp
- sweet milk - 1 c
- Add hot chocolate mixture to the mixture of eggs, butter, 1 cup sugar, flour and milk
How to make devil's food cake:
Mix cocoa, sweet milk and 1 cup sugar, boil 5 minutes. Add hot chocolate mixture to the mixture of eggs, butter, 1 cup sugar, flour and milk. Beat well before adding to chocolate mixture. Then beat again after adding to hot chocolate mixture. Dissolve soda in 3 tablespoons hot water. Then add salt and vanilla. Add together. Bake in 2 cake pans at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost with Devil's Food Cake 7-Minute Icing.Devil's Food Cake 7-Minute Icing:1 c. sugar2 egg whites4 Tbsp. water1/2 tsp. cream of tartar dash of salt1/2 tsp. vanilla Combine all ingredients except vanilla and beat well.
