Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 4 c
- butter - 1/4 lb
- soda - 2 tsp
- chopped dates - 1 lb
- nuts - 1 c
- hot water - 2 c
- softened cream cheese - 1 item
How to make date nut bread:
Mix the first 3 ingredients and let stand. Cream the butter, sugar and eggs. Add flour, vanilla and salt. Alternate with date mixture. Fold in nuts. Pour into 7 ungreased juice cans and bake for one hour at 325°. Slice very thin and spread with softened cream cheese.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Healthy.
