Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- boiling water - 3/4 c
- egg - 1 item
- pecans - 1/2 c
- light brown sugar - 3/4 c
- sifted all-purpose flour
- walnuts - 1/2 c
- pitted dates - 1/2 lb
How to make date and nut bread:
Chop dates. Add soda and boiling water; cool. Beat egg; add sugar, salt and vanilla and combine with date mixture. Sift flour with baking powder. Stir into first mixture with nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake in preheated 350° oven for 1 hoRecipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Quick breads.
