  • sugar - 1 c
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • eggs - 2 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 4 c
  • nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
  • baking soda - 2 tsp
  • shortening - 2 Tbsp
  • molasses - 1 c
  • ginger - 1/4 tsp
  • raisins - 1 c
  • cloves - 1/2 tsp
  • allspice - 1/2 tsp
  • milk sweet or sour - 1 c

How to make cry baby cookies:

Cream shortening and sugar. Add beaten eggs, then molasses, then milk. Sift all dry ingredients together and gradually add to first mixture. Add floured raisins last. Drop from teaspoon on greased pan and bake in slow oven 325° to 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 12 dozen cookies.
