Creamy corn casserole
Ingredients/Components
- finely chopped celery - 1 c
- finely chopped onion - 1/4 c
- finely chopped sweet red pepper - 1/4 c
- butter, divided - 3 tbsp
- condensed cream of chicken soup - 1 10
- fresh, frozen canned corn - 3 c
- can sliced water chestnuts, drained - 1 8
- slivered almonds - 1/3 c
- soft bread crumbs - 1/2 c
How to make creamy corn casserole:
In a skillet, saut?© celery, onion and red pepper in 2 tbsp. butter until tender. Remove from the heat; stir in soup, corn, chestnuts and almonds. Transfer to a 2 qt. baking dish. Melt remaining butter; toss with bread crumbs. Sprinkle on top of casserole. Bake uncovered at 350° for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly.Recipe categories: Vegetables, Corn, Casseroles.
