Cranberry coffee cake
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- sour cream - 1/2 pt
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- confectioners sugar
- almond extract - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- warm water - 1 Tbsp
- slivered almonds - 1 item
- small can whole cranberries - 1 item
How to make cranberry coffee cake:
Glaze:3/4 c. confectioners sugar1/2 tsp. almond extract1 Tbsp. warm water Heat oven to 350°. Use a tube pan. Cream margarine and sugar together; add eggs. Mix well. Add sour cream and extract; mix. Add soda, salt, baking powder and flour; mix well.Pour half of batter in greased and floured tube pan. Spoon on half of cranberries over batter, then 1/4 cup slivered almonds. Pour remaining batter over top. Add remaining cranberries and slivered almonds.
Bake at 350° until done. When cool, mix glaze. Pour over cake.
