Country style steak and gravy
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1 item
- water - 2 c
- shortening - 5 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- Worcestershire - 1/2 tsp
- meat tenderizer - 1 item
- cubed steak - 1 lb
- Accent powder - 1 item
- flour heaping Tbsp - 3 Tbsp
How to make country style steak and gravy:
Sprinkle steak with tenderizer, Accent, salt and pepper on both sides. Flour steak well on both sides. Fry steak in shortening on medium to high heat until brown on both sides approximately 5 minutes on both sides each. Remove from pan and add flour, salt and pepper to fat in pan. Brown lightly stirring. Add a little extra shortening if necessary. Add water and Worcestershire stirring until of a good gravy consistency. Add a little extra water if necessary. You may return steak to gravy and simmer for 20 minutes covered or you may serve separately.Recipe categories: Very low carbs, Main dish, Meat.
