Country casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- all-purpose flour - 3 Tbsp
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- medium onion - 1/2 item
- dried basil - 1/4 tsp
- green pepper - 1/2 item
- biscuits - 1 pkg
- small stalk celery - 1 item
- cubed cooked ham, chicken or turkey
- cooked green beans, peas, corn or mixed vegetables - 2/3 c
How to make country casserole:
Chop celery, onion and green pepper. In a large saucepan, cook in margarine until all are tender. Stir in flour, basil and pepper. Add milk and cook until thickened and bubbly, then cook and stir 1 minute more. Stir in meat and vegetables. Pour into a 1-quart casserole. Cut biscuits into fourths. Place on mixture.
