  • sugar - 1/2 c
  • flour - 1/2 c
  • soda - 1 tsp
  • pinch of salt - 1 item
  • egg - 1 item
  • Crisco - 2 tsp
  • cornmeal - 1 c
  • sour milk - 1 c

How to make corn pone:

Blend sugar and Crisco. Add egg which was beaten slightly to sugar and Crisco. Add sour milk. Sift together soda, cornmeal, flour and salt. Stir into mixture. Pour into a greased pan and bake for 25 minutes at 350°. Note: Sour milk can be m
