Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- baking powder - 5 tsp
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- melted shortening - 4 Tbsp
- yellow cornmeal - 3/4 c
How to make corn bread:
Sift dry ingredients together. Add milk to egg, then add shortening. Add to dry ingredients. Mix well. Turn into well greased 6 x 10-inch pan. Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Southern u.s..
