Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/4 c
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 1 c
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- melted butter - 1/4 c
- egg, well beaten - 1 item
- yellow cornmeal - 1 c
How to make corn bread:
Mix and sift dry ingredients. Combine milk, melted butter and egg. Add to dry ingredients slowly, beating until smooth. Bake in greased square pan in 375° oven 20 to 25 minutes. Cut in squares to serve.Recipe categories: Breads, Quick breads, Southern u.s..
