  • milk - 2 c
  • butter - 1 item
  • eggs, beaten - 6 item
  • sausage, bacon or ham - 1 lb
  • slices bread, crusts trimmed - 12 item
  • Cheddar or Swiss cheese - 8 oz

How to make company breakfast casserole:

Butter bread on both sides. Grease a 9 x 13-inch cake pan. Line bottom and sides with slices of bread. Use 1/2 slices for the sides. Sprinkle grated cheese over the bread. Pour eggs and milk over slices of bread. Top with crumbled meat. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350° for 45 to 60 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
