Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 lb
- sour cream - 4 c
- flour - 4 lb
- brown sugar
- baking powder - 3 Tbsp
- baking soda - 3 Tbsp
- ground cinnamon - 2 Tbsp
- whole eggs - 2 doz
- butter soft - 2 lb
- walnuts, finely chopped
How to make coffee cake:
For the Topping:1 lb. brown sugar2 Tbsp. ground cinnamon1 1/2 lb. walnuts, finely chopped4 oz. butter (soft) First, preheat the oven to 350°. Spray to the bottom and sides of 3 half hotel pans.To make topping, place brown sugar, cinnamon and walnuts in a bowl. Mix together with your fingertips, then add butter and continue working until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Cream the butter and sugar in mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Fold the dry ingredients into the batter mixture in 3 batches, alternating with sour cream. Fold until blended after each addition. Pour half the batter into pan and sprinkle over half of the topping. Pour the remaining batter on top and sprinkle over the remaining topping. Bake for 60 minutes or until browned.
