Ingredients/Components

  • sugar
  • eggs - 5 item
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • vegetable oil
  • plain flour - 3 c
  • butter flavoring
  • coconut flavoring - 1/4 tsp
  • can Angel Flake coconut - 1 item
  • yellow cake flavoring optional - 1 item

How to make coconut pound cake:

Cream sugar and vegetable oil well. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add alternately milk and flour. Begin and end with the flour. Add salt, butter flavorings and coconut flavorings with a spoon. Add coconut to batter along with a few drops of yellow food coloring. Bake in a tube pan. Start cake in a cold oven. Set temperature at 325° for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until brown and tests done.
