Coconut macaroons
Ingredients/Components
- flaked coconut, divided
- Duncan Hines golden sugar cookie mix - 1 pkg
- red candied cherries, halved - 1 item
- egg whites, divided - 2 item
- coconut or almond extract - 1 tsp
How to make coconut macaroons:
Combine cookie mix, 1 egg white, almond extract and 1/2 of coconut. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Dip into remaining egg white. Roll into remaining coconut. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Press candied cherry half into center of each cookie. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet.
