  • sugar - 1 c
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • pkg - 2 oz
  • milk - 2 c
  • Cool Whip - 9 oz
  • yellow cake mix - 1 pkg

How to make coconut cake:

Sprinkle 6 ounces (frozen) coconut on greased 9 x 13-inch or 12-inch square pan. Mix a box of (yellow) cake mix according to directions on box. Pour on top of coconut. Bake according to directions on box. Heat 2 cups milk, 1 cup sugar and vanilla until sugar dissolves and pretty hot. Prick the cake while warm and spoon "milk and sugar" over cake. Let this cool. Spread 9 ounces Cool Whip over top. Sprinkle another 6 ounces coconut on top.
