Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 5 item
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- flaked coconut
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- coconut extract - 1 tsp
- Crisco or 1/2 c - 1 c
How to make coconut cake:
Boil sugar and water for 1 minute; add flavoring. Pour over cake while still in pan. Let stand for 1/2 hour (sprinkle a little powdered sugar on top to keep it from sticking to plate). Turn out on plate and immediately turn back on another plate so it will cool right side up.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Egg.
