  • sugar - 2 c
  • eggs - 5 item
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • buttermilk - 1 c
  • baking powder
  • Crisco - 1 c
  • coconut extract - 1 tsp
  • Angel Flake coconut - 1 can
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each

How to make coconut pound cake:

Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each. Add extract. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to the egg and sugar mixture. Stir in coconut. Bake in Bundt-tube pan (oil and flour the bottom). Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Remove from oven. Prepare syrup and pour over cake while it is still hot. (Poke holes in top with fork before pouring syrup over top.)Syrup:1 c. sugar1/2 c. water1 tsp. coconut extract Combine in pan and boil 1 minute.
