Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- eggs - 5 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- water - 1/2 c
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder
- Crisco - 1 c
- coconut extract - 1 tsp
- Angel Flake coconut - 1 can
- Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each
How to make coconut pound cake:
Cream sugar and Crisco. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each. Add extract. Add dry ingredients and milk alternately to the egg and sugar mixture. Stir in coconut. Bake in Bundt-tube pan (oil and flour the bottom). Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until done. Remove from oven. Prepare syrup and pour over cake while it is still hot.
