Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • flour - 1/5 c
  • grated carrots - 1/5 c
  • pepper - 1/8 tsp
  • diced celery - 1/5 c
  • diced potatoes - 3 c
  • diced onions
  • slices bacon - 6 item
  • chopped clams - 2 cans
  • undiluted milk - 1 c

How to make clam chowder:

Fry the bacon and reserve drippings. Drain bacon on paper towel. Saut?© the onions in 1 tablespoon bacon drippings. Combine the bacon, onions, celery, carrots, flour, salt, potatoes, pepper and milk. Cook, uncovered, for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Bring to boil, then add clams. Cook 5 minutes more.
