Cinnamon rolls
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 1 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- baking powder - 4 tsp
- sifted flour - 4 c
- Crisco - 3/4 c
- raisins and nuts if desired - 1 item
- soft butter, cinnamon and sugar - 1 item
How to make cinnamon rolls:
Preheat oven to 425°. Grease 24 individual muffin cups. In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder and salt. Add the Crisco. Rub the mixture together. Add milk; stir with fork until soft dough forms. Turn dough on floured cutting board and knead a few times. Divide dough in half. Roll out half of the dough into a long rectangle about 1/8-inch thick. Spread the dough with soft butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (and raisins and nuts if desired). Roll up dough, jelly roll style, and pinch the ends. Cut into 12 pieces. Place each piece into a greased muffin cup. Repeat this procedure with the other half of the dough. Bake the rolls for about 15 minutes. Cool in pans for 5 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks. Serve warm, with butter if desired.Recipe categories: Breads, Yeast breads, Brunch.
