Cinnamon ice cream
Ingredients/Components
- whole milk - 3 c
- sugar
- whipping cream - 1 c
- cinnamon sticks - 5 item
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- large egg yolks - 12 item
How to make cinnamon ice cream:
Combine milk, 1 cup sugar, cream, cinnamon and salt in heavy saucepan. Bring almost to a simmer over medium-high heat. Whisk egg yolks and 1/4 cup sugar in large bowl. Gradually whisk in hot mixture; return to saucepan and stir constantly over low heat until custard thickens, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a large bowl. Set in another large bowl of ice water. Cool 30 minutes, stirring often. Cover and chill overnight. Strain custard and process in ice cream maker.Recipe categories: Desserts, Frozen desserts, Comfort food.
